3-WAY CALLING:


Allows you to add a third party to an existing conversation without operator assistance. After calling the first person press and release the switch hook for one second and listen for confirmation tone. Dial the second telephone number and when that person answers, you can talk privately before adding the first person back into the conversation. Press and release the switch hook again and now all three people will be on the line at the same time.

Note: If the line of the third person is busy 3-Way Calling cannot be completed. To disconnect either party ask that person to hang up and you can place another call.When you hang up, all callers will be disconnected.


CALL FORWARDING: star72

Sends all your calls to another number. To activate Call Forwarding:Press star72 (Rotary phones dial 1172) and listen for confirmation tone. Dial the telephone number you want your calls forwarded to. If the call is answered Call Forwarding is activated. If the call is not answered, or if it is busy, calls are not forwarded. Repeating steps 1 and 2 to not answered or busy numbers will activate Call Forwarding.

To deactivate Call Forwarding:Press star73 and listen for the confirmation tone to deactivate Call Forwarding. (Rotary phones dial 1173).

Note: While your calls are being forwarded, you can still make outgoing calls. Incoming calls will ring a 1/2 ring,but you will not be able to answer the call. The 1/2 ring reminds you that Call Forwarding is in effect. If you forward calls outside your local calling area, you may be charged for a long distance call.


CALL WAITING:

Alerts you with a soft beep tone while you are on the telephone informing you of an incoming call. To place the first call on hold and answer the second call, press and release the switch hook for one second. Press and release the switch hook again to switch between calls.


CANCEL CALL WAITING:

Temporarily turns off Call Waiting. This is beneficial when making long distance calls or when using a computer or fax. Before placing a call, press star70 (Rotary phones dial 1170) and listen for confirmation tone. Dial the number of the party you wish to call. Cancel Call Waiting is in effect for that call only. When you hang up Call Waiting is automatically reactivated.you must have Three-Way Calling to Cancel Call Waiting during a call. Press and release the switch hook for one second .Listen for the dial tone, then dial star70(Rotary phones, dial 1170) and listen for the confirmation tone. Press and release the switch hook for one second to return to your call. When you hang up Call Waiting is automatically reactivated.


SPEED CALLING:

To set up Short Speed Calling (8):Write down the name and the telephone number of each person you want to setup for speed calling. Choose a separate Speed Calling code (from 2 to 9) for each telephone number. Press star74 (Rotary phones dial 1174) listen for the confirmation tones then enter a Speed Calling code (from 2 to 9). Now, enter the phone number for that Speed Calling Code (including “1” and area code if it is a long distance number). Confirmation tones will confirm your entry. Hang up, then repeat steps 3-4 for each new number.

To set up Long Speed Calling (30):Write down the name and the telephone number of each person you want to setup for speed calling. Choose a separate Speed Calling code (from 20 to 49) for each telephone number. Press star75 (Rotary phones dial 1175) listen for confirmation tone then enter a Speed Calling code (from 20-49). Now, enter the phone number for that Speed Calling Code (include “1” and the area code if it is a long distance number). Confirmation tones will confirm your entry. Hang up, then repeat steps 3-4 for each new number.


AUTOMATIC CALL BACK: star66
calls the last number that you dialed,regardless whether you received a busy signal, no answer or need to re-contact that person. (Rotary phones dial 1166). When you activate Automatic Call Back the system monitors both lines for up to 30 minutes.When both lines are idle Automatic Call Back signals you and the called party,therefore completing the call. You can place or receive other calls during the 30 minute period. Pressing star86 cancels Automatic CallBack (Rotary phones dial 1186).


AUTOMATIC RECALL: star69
allows you to be connected to the last number that called you. When you activate Automatic Recall the system will announce the number that called you, if it has not been blocked. (Rotary phones dial 1169).Following the number announcement you will have the option to cancel or proceed with placing the call. If the number you are calling is busy or does not answer, the system will monitor both lines for up to 30 minutes.When both lines are idle Automatic Recall signals you and the called party,therefore completing the call. You can place or receive other calls during the 30 minute period. Pressing star89 cancels Automatic Recall. (Rotary phones dial 1189).


CALLING NUMBER DELIVERY (CALLER ID) :

enables you to receive the telephone number of the person calling you. (If it has not been blocked). The number is displayed on a display device which is purchased separately. Works in conjunction with Call Waiting and Calling Number Delivery (Caller ID)to display the telephone number of the second call.


PRIVATE CALLER BLOCK: star77
allows the called party to reject incoming calls marked “PRIVATE” by the calling party. When activated, the “PRIVATE”calling party receives a recording indicating“the number you have reached is not accepting calls from private numbers. Please hang up, reverse your number privacy,and try calling again.” To activate Private Caller Block Press star77 (Rotary phones dial 1177) To deactivate Private Caller Block Press star87 (Rotary phones dial 1187) This feature will not reject calls that appear as “UNKNOWN” or “OUT OF AREA”.


CALLING NUMBER BLOCKING*:
star67
To block your number from being displayed before each call dial star67. A stutter confirmation tone, followed by a second dial tone, confirms blocking is activated (Rotary phone dial 1167).This service is offered FREE of charge to all 967 customers.

Pressing star82 allows your telephone number to be displayed on the Caller ID Device of the person you have called.


SELECTIVE CALL ACCEPTANCE*: star64
allows you to select a list of 32 numbers that will be accepted. Any callers whose number is not on the list will hear an announcement stating the called party is not presently accepting calls. You can review and change the list as desired.(Rotary phones dial 1164).


SELECTIVE CALL REJECTION*:
star60
allows you to select a list of 32 numbers to be rejected. The calling party on the rejection list will receive an announcement stating the called party is not presently accepting calls. Incoming calls from numbers not rejected will be completed normally.You can review and change the list as desired. (Rotary phones dial 1160).


SELECTIVE CALL FORWARDING*:star63
allows you to select a list of 32 numbers to be forwarded to a single designated location of your choice. Any telephone number not on your list will be completed to your number in the normal manner.You can review and change the list as desired. If you forward calls outside your local calling area, you may be charged for a long distance call. (Rotary phones dial 1163).


SELECTIVE DISTINCTIVE RINGING/CALL WAITING*: star61
allows you to select a list of 32 numbers to be identified by a special ring or Call Waiting tone when they call you. Any telephone number not on your list will be completed to your number with the normal ring or Call Waiting tone.(Rotary phones dial 1161).


PERSONAL TELEPHONE NUMBER (Teen Service)

allows you to have the convenience of 2 telephone numbers without the cost of a second line. When a call is received on your primary telephone number, the telephone rings with a normal ringing pattern. However when the Personal Telephone Number is called the telephone rings with a distinctive ringing pattern different from the primary number. All billing is applied to the primary telephone number. Monthly fees include a Personal Telephone Number directory listing.

Voice Mail is available on the Personal Telephone Number.


PROGRAMMABLE CALL FORWARDING BUSY/ NO ANSWER: star90


allows incoming calls to be forwarded to another phone number if your phone is busy or is not answered. To set up Call Forward Busy:Press Listen for confirmation tone. Dial the number (plus 1 and area code if necessary). If the call is answered Call Forward Busy is activated. If the call is not answered, or if it is busy, calls are not forwarded. Repeating steps 1 and 2 to not answered or busy numbers will activate Call Forward Busy. Pressing deactivates Programmable Call Forward Busy. To set up Call Forward-No Answer:If you are not able to answer your telephone,this feature automatically forwards the call to another telephone number. Press and listen for confirmation tone. Enter number of rings desired before call is transferred (2-9).Dial the number (plus 1 and area code if necessary). If the call is answered Call Forward-No Answer is activated. If the call is not answered, or if it is busy, calls are not forwarded. Repeating steps 1 and2 to not answered or busy numbers will activate Call Forward-No Answer.
Pressing deactivates Programmable Call Forward-No Answer. Warm Line automatically calls a predetermined telephone number if the receiver is lifted from the telephone and no digits are dialed within 30 seconds. A number dialed prior to the 30 second time out will be completed in the normal manner. Calls placed outside your local calling area may incur a long distance charge.

Automated step-by-step instructions are easy to follow to establish your password and record a personal greeting:

  1. Dial 967-MAIL(6245) from the phone number where voice mail is installed.
  2. The voice mail messaging system will ask you for your temporary password. Your TEMPORARY password is the same as your telephone number (967-xxxx). Once you enter your temporary password, the voice mail system will prompt you to change your password. Think of a password that is easy to remember and is 6 to 15 digits long. Do not use your telephone number as your permanent password, as this may jeopardize your voicemail security.
  3. Follow the remaining tutorial instructions on personalizing your voice mailbox.

If your line is busy or you are not able to answer your phone, this feature automatically transfers all incoming calls to your voice mail message box. You will be alerted that you have messages by a stutter dial tone when you lift your receiver or by a message waiting indicator light (requires compatible equipment). Steps to retrieve your messages from your home location or from a remote location are made simple by following the voice instruction prompts.
